Sohar Fort Museum

The Sohar Fort is located on the beach and dates back to 18th century. The most important preserves of the museums are the seafaring equipments, weapons dating back to the medieval era. The museum also displays the copper trade in Oman.

Fees—500 Baisa for Adults, 600 Baisa for Childern above 6 years.

Visting Time: 8 am to 1.30 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm from Saturday to Wednesday. 9 am to 1 pm on Thursdays.

The name Sohar narrates a legendary past. It is said that it is this city of Sohar where the adventurous sailor Sindbad was born.

which was once very important in Oman. The first floor of the fort illustrates the ancient forts in Oman and a climb up to the roof gives a quaint view of the sea and Sohar.
