Description

Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Muscat, the Muscat Airport, or the Sultan Qaboos Port in Muttrah. The first stop on the visit will be the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the Sultanate of Oman. More than 20,000 worshipers can pray inside, and it also contains one of the largest carpets and chandeliers in the world. (Visit the mosque from inside only in the morning) After that, have Omani bread with Karak tea in one of the local cafes. Then visit the Royal Opera House, one of the largest opera houses in the Middle East, which includes a market, restaurants, and the opera building. Next, visit the charming Al-Qurm beach. Al-Qurm means mangrove trees, where the mountain rocks meet the salty sea water, creating this unique view. After finishing the visit to the beach, visit the fish and vegetable market in Muttrah city, as it contains many types of fish, tuna, and mullet. Then head to visit the traditional Muttrah Souq, where you can shop and buy some handicrafts and souvenirs, and also eat Omani sweets (halwaa). Visit Al Alam Palace in the old city of Muscat. Then visit the Al Jalal and Al Mirani Forts, which were built by the Portuguese between the 16th and 17th centuries. Take a souvenir photo and return to the hotel.
