With Sinbad Oman, you'll discover the historical and natural heart of Oman: Nizwa and the Green Mountain (Jebel Akhdar). I'm your personal guide, and I'll accompany you on a unique journey full of culture, nature, and authentic stories about the lives of the locals and the rich heritage of Oman. Look forward to breathtaking views, exciting stories, and unforgettable experiences. We'll set off from Muscat in the morning in my private car towards Nizwa. The road leads through impressive landscapes, from dry plains to green valleys, while I tell you about the history and culture of Oman. First, we'll visit Nizwa Fortress, one of Oman's oldest fortresses, with a palace and the former seat of the imam. You can watch native animals in the garden behind the fortress. We'll explore the towers, enjoy panoramic views, and I'll tell you exciting stories about old Nizwa. In the fortress, you can try the traditional Omani bread 'Al-Sa'bi,' freshly prepared in the fortress snack area. Then we'll visit the Nizwa market. Here you'll meet Omani vendors of all ages and can try traditional sweets and various local dates. You'll also find stalls selling spices, crafts, silver, and traditional weapons. Then we'll stroll through the narrow streets of the old city of Nizwa and walk along the city wall to admire the arrangement of the houses and palm trees. I'll explain how the locals renovate old buildings and turn them into cafes, restaurants, and small shops. After Nizwa, we'll head to the Green Mountain to explore old rural villages at about 2,500 meters above sea level. The villages offer panoramic views of a large valley, traditional stone houses, and terraced gardens. I'll explain how the locals have been cultivating agriculture and water management for centuries. We'll hike through more mountain villages and see the amazing traditional irrigation systems (falaj) that guide the water to the fields. Then we'll head to the Birkat Al Mouz date oasis, which includes: 1. The traditional Falaj system, added to the UNESCO list in 2006. 2. The old town on the mountain, with panoramic views of the surroundings. 3. The date plantations you can visit. The oasis combines nature and culture and showcases the sustainable way of life of the Omanis. After the tour, we'll head back to Muscat, with short stops for photos and a rest. I'll personally accompany you, tell stories, and answer all your questions so you have an individual and authentic experience. On this trip, you'll experience the real Oman: from the fortress of Nizwa, to markets, old town alleys, mountain and village life, to the oasis of Birkat Al Mouz with Falaj, old town, and date plantations. You'll head back to Muscat with a ton of memories, awesome photos, and a deep understanding of Oman.
