My friend and I chose to celebrate our birthday dinner at Takara Muscat because we were craving Japanese food, and we’re so grateful we did. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations in the most beautiful way. The food was absolutely outstanding, truly one of the best Japanese dining experiences we’ve had in Muscat. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented with such attention to detail. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. It made our birthday celebration feel even more special and memorable. What touched us the most was the exceptional service. The entire team was incredibly warm, kind, and attentive. A very special thank you to Margie, who assisted us throughout the evening with such genuine care and a lovely smile. She made sure we were comfortable and happy the whole time. We were also so surprised and touched when the staff sang “Happy Birthday” to us and prepared candles on our sushi so we could make a wish, it was such a thoughtful, heartfelt gesture that we will never forget. To all the staff who were on duty that Wednesday, April 1, 2026, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You didn’t just serve us dinner, you created a beautiful memory for us that we will always cherish. We truly, highly recommend Takara Muscat to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, exceptional service, and a place that makes you feel genuinely special. Had a fantastic dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and authentically prepared, but what made our visit truly unforgettable was the service. A massive thank you to Evelyn for her outstanding work—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be coming back!
Takara has a beautiful, elegant, and serene ambiance that makes for a very relaxing dining experience. The service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and welcoming throughout our meal. The food was good, but not quite amazing. We ordered the Sumire Teppanyaki Set, which was enjoyable overall, but the lobster and prawns were unfortunately overcooked. The scallops were cooked well, and the fried rice was delicious. Rate it 7/10 We also tried the Spicy Tuna Maki, which was outstanding—definitely a 10/10 and a must-order. The Unagi Maki was decent but less memorable, around a 6/10. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and will definitely be returning to explore more of the sushi menu. While the teppanyaki didn’t quite meet our expectations, we’re looking forward to trying more of what Takara has to offer.
First of all, the inside is really nice. Second, the staff is really friendly - yes in Oman they all are, but still - then, food was delicious. We had Teppanyaki and it was really nice meal. There was only one item overly done: the shrimps. All the rest was perfect and definitely to repeat on my next trip. If you’re into Japanese food and in Muscat, it’s a must visit place.
