Designed in a chronological approach, this gallery takes you from the geological formation of Oman to the rise of the Renaissance. Highlight two themes: maritime heritage and aflaj, due to their connection to Oman’s history. This gallery consists of nine pavilions: Land of Oman, Early Settlers, Civilisation of Magan, Maritime Heritage, Aflaj, Kingdom of Oman, Embracing Islam, Al Ya’ariba Dynasty, and Al Busaidi Dynasty. Next, visit the Renaissance Gallery, designed in a thematic approach that highlights the achievements of the Renaissance under the rule of Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Learn about the future projects of the Oman Vision 2040 and the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Experience an immersive interactive experience using the latest museum display technologies. This gallery consists of 12 pavilions: Renaissance Dawn, Building a Nation, Our Society, A Healthy Environment, Peace and Stability, Towards a Sustainable Economy, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Ash Shura, Oman and the World, Creative Expression, Media and Communication, and Inspiration. Take advantage of the museum’s facilities, including a Knowledge Centre, Auditorium, Multi-purpose Hall, Museum Shop, Museum Cafe, As Sablah Cafe, Nursery, and Museum Garden.
