Description

The tour starts with a drive from Muscat to Misfat Al Abriyeen, a historic village on a steep slope below Jebel Shams. This village features old homes, narrow streets, and a traditional falaj irrigation system supporting orchards, date palms, and vegetable gardens. You will have time to walk around and explore the village on foot.

Next, the tour continues to Wadi Ghul, a 2000-year-old village located at the foot of Mountain Ghul. This abandoned stone-built village lies on the route to Jebel Shams and offers insight into Oman’s heritage.

Afterwards, you visit Wadi Al Nakhar, a deep valley named after the local word for erosion. Its impressive rock formations have been sculpted by water over time. The valley is one of the deepest in Oman and serves as an important water source flowing through multiple valleys and reefs.

The final leg is a drive up Jebel Shams Mountain, reaching an elevation of 3009 meters. Known as the Grand Canyon of Oman, this mountain offers adventurous off-road driving and panoramic canyon views at about 2000 meters height, where you will stop for photos and to appreciate the landscape.
