Visit Wadi Dawka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its natural Frankincense trees. Learn about the historical and modern uses of Frankincense. After a short break in Thumrait town, once a Bedouin settlement, continue west across the gravel desert of Al Nejd.

Next, explore the Lost City of Ubar, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, approximately 175 kilometers from Salalah. This ancient kingdom, hidden beneath the Rub Al Khali desert (known as the Empty Quarter), was rediscovered by satellite imaging and explored by Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ team in 1992. Walk around the archaeological site and connect with this historical mystery.
