Description

This full-day private tour from Muscat takes you to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman, and up to Jebel Akhdar, known as the Green Mountain.

Your group (maximum 4 people) will be accompanied by Mohammed, an Omani guide fluent in German, who provides a high-quality, personalized experience without time pressure.

In Nizwa, visit the 17th-century fortress with its round defensive tower and views over the date palms. Explore the traditional souq featuring silversmiths, spices, and Omani halva.

Next, ascend over 2,000 meters to Jebel Akhdar by private air-conditioned 4x4, as only 4x4 vehicles are allowed. The climate is cooler here, often 10 to 15 degrees lower than Muscat. From Diana Point, enjoy views of the gorge, then walk through the terraced villages of Al Ain, Al Aqur, and Ash Shirayjah, known for rose gardens and fruit terraces. A cup of Omani coffee with a mountain view is offered if time allows.

On the return route, stop at Birkat Al Mouz to see the traditional Falaj irrigation system (a UNESCO World Heritage site), mud houses, and extensive date palm gardens.
