Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Muscat - Bimmah Sinkhole - Fins Beach - Wadi Shab - Sur - Ras Al Hadd
The tour departs Muscat in the morning heading towards Ras Al Hadd. The first stop is Bimmah Sinkhole, a turquoise-water lake 50 by 70 meters wide and around 20 meters deep, formed by limestone collapse. Swimming is possible here.
Next is Fins Beach, also called White Sands Beach, known for its white sands, pebbly shore, turquoise water, and cool breeze.
We then drive to Wadi Shab, a large canyon lined with palm trees. After a 35 to 40-minute hike (walking shoes recommended), visitors arrive at clear water pools for swimming. The hike ends at a cave with a waterfall illuminated by sunlight.
Continuing to the coastal city of Sur, the tour includes a visit to the traditional Arabian Dhow Factory to see wooden Dhows being built, and a walk through Sur’s old quarter featuring historic houses with wooden doors and windows.
The day ends with an overnight stay in Ras Al Hadd, followed by a guided night walk at the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve to observe nesting sea turtles and possibly hatching baby turtles.
Day 2: Ras Al Hadd - Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands - Muscat
After breakfast, the tour visits Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's largest wadis. A short 10-minute walk (walking shoes recommended) leads to 9-meter-deep blue water pools ideal for swimming and sunbathing within the scenic canyon.
The journey continues to Wahiba Sands desert (also called Al Sharqiya Sands), a 12,500 square km area known for its rolling dunes and named after the Bani Wahiba tribe. Experience dune bashing and walk among golden sands with an experienced guide before returning to Muscat.
