Board a 4WD vehicle and travel to Fanja, where you can photograph the abandoned village. Drive through the Sumail Gap, which divides the Western and Eastern Hajars. See the ruins of Al Mansfah, an old mercantile community near Ibra. Continue to Wadi Bani Khaled, passing a village with extensive date plantations along the way. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the cool, deep pools of the wadi. Afterward, proceed to Wahiba Sands and experience dune bashing across the golden dunes. The tour concludes with a return to Muscat.
