Khasab

Khasab is 350 KM drive from Muscat. This region in Musandam is very picturesque, wit the fort overlooking the harbour. This fort at Khasab represents the eastern line of defence. Further east, ther is a souk . This souk in Khasab selss al usual Omani items. The souk also sells Irani goods and is also known to sell 'jerz'- a unique musandam axe. One can also buy locally made pottery depicting a good work of art. The hrabour at Khasab is a must-see place. Buying fresh fish from the fisherman who brings their catches every morning can be exciting. There is a small shipyard adjacent to the harbour, where the boat builders engage themselves in building fishing vessels.
