Al Hoota Cave

Al Hoota cave is located in the southern part of Jebel Akhdar near Al Hamra and is one of the largest cave systems in the world. The system is a major subterranean wadi with Al Hoota cave as its inlet

This fascinating cave system has developed into a major tourist attraction due to the wide variety of natural formations and subterranean life. Stalagmites and stalactites frame views into lakes, one of which is 800m long.

Bats swoop overhead and a peculiar species of blind fish make the caves their home.

The caves are beautifully lit and a passenger train takes you from the visitor centre to the mouth of the caves. A restaurant and gift shop are also located in the visitor centre.

Timings:

Saturday to Thursday: 9 am - 1 pm and 2 pm - 6 pm

Fridays: 9 am - 12 pm; 2 pm – 6 pm

Last tour is at 5:15pm

Previous reservations are required

Reservations to visit the cave can be made 7 days a week from 08:30 till 16:30
