Bait Al Baranda was opened in the year 2006 by Seyyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture. Situated near the Sultan Qaboos Port roundabout, this museum holds interactive history of Muscat. Bait Al Baranda showcases Oman geology; ancient life, human settlements from 10,000 BC to the early Islamic era, the portugese occupation, Al Bu said Dynasty, Muscat today, glimpases of Oman's history.
Timings: Open: Saturdays – thursdays. 9am-1pm, 4pm-6pm
Closed: Fridays and public holidays
Entry Fees: OMR1 – Adults; 500 baisas for children.
