This splendid two-storey castle was built by Imam Bil' arab bin Sultan and his brother, Imam Saif bin Sultan in the last decade of the 17th century. Imam Ahmed bin Said together with his sons, later used it as a rest house and lived there for some years. It continued to be a meeting and resting place for travelers and the armed forces until a few decades ago.
The An Naman Castle stands in a small courtyard with large shady trees. A well was used to provide water for the residents and their crops.
Rooms are furnished with cushions, floor coverings and household goods, plus a few glass cases that house traditional silver jewelry.
This house has its own falaj that was used to run through it from Habra just outside Nakhal. This is common in forts and houses of Imams. Despite the fact that the falaj is already dry, one can still trace its route. The rooms are constructed in distinct military style and have escape routes through the ground in case of an attack.
The An Naman Castle was recently renovated.
