Description

Experience life in a desert wilderness on an overnight camping tour to the magical dunes of Ar Rub Al Khali, with round-trip transportation from Salalah. Day 1: Benefit from pickup at your hotel, the airport, or cruise ship terminal, and then travel towards the vast desert dunes of the Empty Quarter via Thumrait. Arrive in Al Hashman, where an experienced driver will take you up the hills and sand dunes on a thrilling dune bashing drive. Witness a beautiful sunset over the sand dunes before you reach the campsite. Go for an optional camel ride, and savor authentic flavors and some Arabian coffee and traditional dates before a tasty dinner with shisha pipe. Day 2: Enjoy breakfast at the campsite, and then proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lost City of Ubar. Learn the myth of how the desert was swallowed up and sank without trace to become the fabled Atlantis of the Sands. Return to Salalah via Wadi Dawka, known for its large collection of frankincense trees.
